Kids Balance Bikes

A balance bike is the easiest way to learn to ride. With no pedals or training wheels, toddlers push along with their feet and learn to balance and steer first, so many kids move straight onto a pedal bike without ever needing training wheels.

Choosing a balance bike

Balance bikes generally suit children around 2–4 years old and roughly 85–105cm tall. Your child should be able to sit on the saddle with both feet flat on the ground and a slight bend in the knee. A lighter bike is easier for small riders to handle, and an adjustable seat and handlebar gives them room to grow.

Once they're gliding confidently with their feet up, it's time for a 12in or 16in kids bike. Don't forget an approved kids helmet, as helmets are compulsory for all bike riders in NSW. Browse all kids bikes, or visit our Casula store for help with sizing.
