Put simply the Shimano XT M786 Shadow Plus Rear Derailleur is designed to take abuse.... No matter what the terrain chain slap, dropped chains and missed shifts can be reduced by simply engaging the stabilising switch. This greatly reduces the need for a chain device to keep the tension on the chain.
